Arrived in North Dakota...... and found Himself waiting to start work....

Well at last posting, Tomo made it out to North Dakota and was ready to go ...... but somewhere there was a glitch in the system and the job assignments were postponed for a few days.  Finally he got a job and was hauling dirt and gravel for Mike Field Services.  He is working with his buddy Tyson and glad to have some green stuff coming into his pockets.

Heading to North Dakota and BELLY DUMP TRUCK Driving

THIS IS A BELLY DUMP....
BUT NOT SURE THIS IS THE KIND TOMO WILL BE DRIVING?

Tomo left Granite Falls, Washington on early on Thursday morning, only to find himself stuck on Snoqualmie Pass with a road closer.  The masses of snow the few days before and then the  rain, made for avalanche warning conditions.

He was stuck for a few hours and finally got over the pass. These pictures were taken during the down time on the pass.  This was the traffic heading to Spokane.  Tomo was spending the night at his regular rest stop in Cheney and the lovely hosts, Shaun and Sandy.

On Friday morning, Tomo was to visit Bob and Shirley in the Spokane Valley, then move on out and up and over Montana.

Granite Falls WA -- $4.09/gal
Cheney WA -- $3.89/gal
Bonner MT -- $3.49/gal

I'm liking the fuel prices!!

While heading to Minot, North Dakota, Tomo liked the gas prices!!   He will be working along with Tyson.  More later........

665 miles to go to be in downtown Minot, North Dakota......Tomo reported in from Butte, Montana.

MORE Jobs and New Developments

Monroe job site 03/07/2011:
Tomo had a job working in Monroe, Washington and Gold Bar, Washington.  He was delivering a milling machine and a lathe to a private shop owner in Monroe and another milling machine in Gold Bar.  Both delivery locations were in the middle of a residential area.  The fellow in Monroe has made his machine shop in his garage.  In order to get to his location, Tomo had to start out with a 7.5% - 8% (at least) grade, and ducking for power lines while at the same time turning hairpin corners, and this continued for a good 3/4 mile or so......

Coming out of the job site.

The steep grade hairpin with power lines hanging low.

Shop owners drive way.
Steep+muddy+freezing cold

The next stop was a Gold bar location.  It was a machine shop in a backyard type of place. I couldn't get into their property, so I blocked one of the lanes and parked on the street. On top of that, this road wasn't going to take us anywhere close towards home.  There was no way to turn around anywhere close by, Tomo ended up having to backup 1/2 miles, the same way they came in.
On the way to the Gold Bar job site.
Absolutely a beautiful day!!
Now, Tomo has a job in Minot, North Dakota driving dump trucks.  He is bound for Eastern Washington on Thursday and then on to North Dakota on Friday and Saturday.

More details later as we know.

Prepping Diane's flower bed
Had the day off....but it turned into a full working day, prepping Diane's flower beds by the entrance of the driveway.  Raining all day, very muddy and very very cold outside......

Friendly Hockey!!
Worked all day from 6:00 am to 16:00 pm doing our shop move.  Very much a dragging day.

Then played hockey like usual in the evening.  Bodily damage 100% all together from work and hockey.  Good game to all.
