QUITE THE BUSY TRUCKER ....

October 7th, Starting the oversize loads!

Windy but beautiful evening at the
world's largest truck stop in Walcott, Iowa.
Parking capacity 800+ vehicles.

October 13th
Sunday Morning meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.
Then two afternoon Gospel meetings back to back
in the same area.  One on the Kentucky side and
another on the Indiana side.  Had a great time
with some of the friends there.

Meet Jackson!! This young pup was Tomo's traveling buddy for a short time.  A man Tomo works with off and on at the Landstar Headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida, lost two dogs last year and he wanted another dog.  This man's son lives in Pennsylvania and breeds dogs.  So instead of shipping the dog the traditional way, Tomo agreed to find a load for himself towards Pennsylvania to pick up the dog and then a load to Floridato deliver the dog.

It was an interesting experience overall.  Tomo has thought about getting a dog for himself one of these days and so this made for a trial run.  In the course of a five day period, Jackson puked twice on the floor, took a dump on my bed while I was out having breakfast with my friend, peed all over my driver's seat while I was getting loaded, broke out of his soft kennel while I was gone taking a shower.

Tomo had a great week working this thing out but now may rethink the idea of getting a dog!

October 17th,
It's a sad day when $400.00
only gets you a half a tank of fuel!!

Mobile, Alabama to Norfolk, Virginia
10 wide, GVW -- 80,260 lbs.

Slight overhang on the sides.
This is what 10 wide looks like in the mirrors.
Nothing exciting when it's only 6 inches worth of steel plates.
However, when it pays good, one doesn't care.

The license plate reads:
'BTHNKFL'
This guy was going 52 mph in a 65 mph zone.....
My response to the license plate was:
'No Sir, I'll be thankful when you will pick up and GO!!'

Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel
17 mile ride, mostly over the water, parts of it under.

Sunday morning meeting in Richmond, Virginia.
Nothing better than meeting with friends.
